McNuggets come in five sizes and the per piece cost falls sharply as the box gets bigger. The 20 piece bottoms out at around 35 cents per nugget against 80 cents for a four piece, which makes it better value than two 10 piece boxes even if you are eating alone. Snack Wraps returned to the US menu in July 2025 after a decade away and are now the cheapest hot chicken item McDonald’s sells at $2.99. Each uses a McCrispy Strip rather than a nugget or a patty, wrapped in a flour tortilla with lettuce, cheese and sauce. All three versions cost the same, so the choice is purely about which sauce you want.

The Filet-O-Fish is the only fish item on the permanent menu and one of the oldest sandwiches McDonald’s makes, on the board since 1962. It uses a wild caught Alaska Pollock fillet with tartar sauce and half a slice of cheese on a steamed bun, which is why it arrives softer than every other sandwich here. At 390 calories it is also the lowest calorie non nugget protein item on the menu.
