McDonald's Desserts Menu With Prices and Calories

Check out the latest McDonald’s Desserts. We’ve compiled the latest from trusted sources so you can order / visit the franchise with confidence.

McDonald’s desserts start at $1.79 for a chocolate chip cookie and run to $12.59 for a 13 cookie tote. The dessert menu covers McFlurry, soft serve, shakes, sundaes, pies and cookies, with most items under $5.

Every item on the McDonald’s desserts menu in the USA with a current price and calorie count. McDonald’s calls this category Sweets and Treats on its own board, but most people search for McDonald’s desserts, and both mean the same six product lines. This page covers all of them, plus the questions the menu board does not answer: whether the ice cream machine is working, which dessert is actually vegan, and where the value sits. For the rest of the board, prices are on our McDonald’s menu with prices.

McDonald's desserts menu prices, full list

Every dessert McDonald’s sells in the USA, sorted by price. Six product lines make up the whole menu and four of them come from the same soft serve machine, which matters more than it sounds: if one is unavailable the others usually are too, and the pies and cookies are your fallback. Item names link to their own page with every size and flavour.

McFlurry flavors and prices

The McFlurry is the biggest seller on the McDonald’s desserts menu by a wide margin, and Oreo alone generates more searches than every other dessert combined. All permanent flavours cost the same, which means a limited edition mix costs no more than an Oreo, making seasonal flavours the better pick when they are running. The mini size is the underrated option: at $3.29 it delivers 60 percent of the regular for 70 percent of the price.

McDonald's ice cream, cones and sundaes

The vanilla cone is the cheapest dessert McDonald’s sells that is not a cookie, and at 200 calories it is also among the lightest. Sundaes are the same soft serve in a cup with sauce, which is why they cost twice as much for only 130 more calories. If you want the sauce without the markup, ask for a cone with fudge on the side at restaurants that allow it.

The soft serve itself is reduced fat vanilla, which is why McDonald’s ice cream tastes lighter than most dairy soft serve and why it melts faster. It is the base for cones, sundaes, McFlurry and every shake on the menu.

Shakes are the heaviest thing on the McDonald’s desserts menu and the item people most often underestimate. A medium chocolate shake carries 680 calories and 98g of sugar, which is more than a Big Mac and roughly four teaspoons more sugar than a medium Coca-Cola. All three permanent flavours are priced identically, and the Shamrock Shake carries a ten cent premium when it runs.

Apple pie, cookies and baked desserts

These two are the reason the McDonald’s desserts menu still works when the soft serve machine is down. Both come from the oven rather than the freezer, so they are unaffected by whatever is happening with the ice cream side of the kitchen.

The Baked Apple Pie is worth knowing about for a second reason: it contains no dairy or egg, which makes it the only vegan item on the entire McDonald’s desserts menu. Cookies scale in packs and the per cookie price falls sharply as the pack grows, from $1.79 for one down to 97 cents each in the 13 cookie tote.

Is the McDonald's ice cream machine working?

The most asked question about McDonald’s desserts, and no other price guide answers it. The machines are not broken as often as the joke suggests. What actually happens is a mandatory heat treatment cycle that pasteurises the mix inside the machine, runs for around four hours, and cannot be interrupted. It is usually scheduled overnight, but if it starts late or fails partway it locks the machine out through the morning.

That is why the answer is almost always the same: try later, or try a different restaurant. It also means every soft serve item goes down together. If McFlurry is unavailable, so are cones, sundaes and all four shakes, because they come from the same machine. Apple pie and cookies are unaffected.

Seasonal and limited time desserts

The McDonald’s desserts menu changes more often than any other category, and the seasonal items generate spikes that dwarf the permanent range. The Shamrock Shake has returned every February since 1967 and is the single most anticipated limited item McDonald’s runs. We re-check this section weekly rather than monthly, because a limited dessert priced four weeks ago is usually one that has already gone.

Sorted lowest to highest. The gap across the McDonald’s desserts menu is wider than most people expect: a vanilla cone at 200 calories sits at less than a third of a medium chocolate shake at 680. Sugar rather than fat is what separates them, and the shakes lead on both.

Vegan and dietary options on the desserts menu

One item on the entire McDonald’s desserts menu is vegan: the Baked Apple Pie. It contains no dairy and no egg, which is unusual for a fast food pastry and something McDonald’s does not advertise. Everything else on this page contains dairy, because the soft serve base runs through all of it and the cookies contain butter and egg.

Dessert prices near you

Desserts show a narrower price spread than burgers because the soft serve items are cheap to produce and franchisees rarely adjust them. The exception is the McFlurry, which is the item most often used in local app promotions and can drop below three dollars during a deal.

McDonald's desserts FAQ

What desserts does McDonald's have?

Six product lines on the McDonald’s desserts menu: McFlurry, soft serve cones, sundaes, milkshakes, Baked Apple Pie and chocolate chip cookies. Prices run $1.49 to $12.59, with most items under $5. Seasonal additions like the Shamrock Shake appear at fixed points in the year.

A kids cone at $1.49, followed by a chocolate chip cookie at $1.79 and a vanilla cone at $1.99. By calories per dollar the vanilla cone is the best value single dessert at 101.

$4.69 for a regular Oreo or M&M’s McFlurry and $3.29 for a mini. Limited edition flavours run $4.99. All permanent flavours cost the same, so a seasonal mix is no more expensive than an Oreo.

Usually it is not broken. The machine runs a mandatory four hour heat treatment cycle that pasteurises the mix and cannot be interrupted. If it starts late or fails partway, the machine is locked out until it finishes. Every soft serve item goes down together, but apple pie and cookies are unaffected.

The Baked Apple Pie is the only vegan item on the McDonald’s desserts menu. It contains no dairy or egg. Everything else contains dairy, because the soft serve base runs through the McFlurry, cones, sundaes and every shake.

410 for a regular Oreo McFlurry, 570 for M&M’s and 250 for a mini. The mini delivers 61 percent of the calories for 70 percent of the price, which makes the regular slightly better value if calories are what you are after.

A medium chocolate shake at 680 calories and 98g of sugar, which is more than a Big Mac. The 13 cookie tote is higher at 2,210 but is a sharing item rather than a single serving.

Yes, in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry at $4.69 for a medium, plus the seasonal Shamrock Shake each February. They come from the same soft serve machine as the McFlurry, so if one is unavailable both are.

Every February, running through to mid March. It has returned annually since 1967 and is the most anticipated seasonal item McDonald’s sells. Exact dates shift each year and it does not appear at every restaurant.

Yes, and by a lot. A single cookie is $1.79, a three pack works out at $1.43 each, and the 13 cookie tote drops to 97 cents per cookie. That is the steepest bulk discount anywhere on the McDonald’s desserts menu.

Prices shown are based on typical U.S. McDonald’s menu prices as of August 2026 and may vary by location. Check your local restaurant or McDonald’s app for the latest prices.
