This was the original. When a Canadian franchisee invented the McFlurry in 1995, Oreo was the only flavour, and thirty years later it still outsells everything else McDonald's has tried. It is also the lighter of the two permanent options: an M&M's version is 570 against this one's 410, for exactly the same money. This page covers both sizes, the full nutrition, the price, how it compares to the alternatives, and the seasonal mint version people search for every spring. The full flavour range is on our McFlurry page, and the whole board is on the McDonald's menu with prices.
410 calories in the regular size. The number that matters more is the sugar: 39g of added sugar in one cup, which is above the daily recommendation for most adults before you have eaten anything else.

Yes. The first McFlurry ever sold was Oreo, on 7 June 1995 in Bathurst, New Brunswick, where a Canadian franchisee invented it. Thirty years later it is still the best seller.
The regular is better value per spoonful, but 39g of added sugar is a lot to take on for that. The Mini is the only way to have one under 300 calories, and it roughly halves both the calories and the sugar.
No. The Oreo pieces contain wheat, so it is not suitable for coeliac disease or gluten avoidance. The soft serve base on its own contains milk and soy but no wheat. Full detail on our allergen menu.
Because the soft serve machine is unavailable. It runs a four-hour heat treatment cycle it cannot serve during, and roughly 12 to 15 percent of machines are down nationally at any time. More on our McDonald's ice cream page.

Priya has tracked fast food pricing since 2019. Every figure on this page comes from our own field survey: eight researchers photograph restaurant menu boards at 62 locations across 14 states in the first week of each month, and we publish the median. We do not use app pricing, which runs higher, and we do not carry figures forward from a previous month without re-checking them.
